The 21st Century Filmmaker Awards are given out at each Avignon/New York Film Festival. The Roger Statuette (pronounced "ro-jay") was created by sculptor John Knowles of the Roger Smith Hotel to symbolize the Award's cinematic creativity and independence. The 2006 prizewinners will be announced on the final day of this year's festival, Nov. 19, 2006, based on audience voting!
